Smith Brothers Financial Services

Andrea Camoin

Chief Compliance Officer & Director of Individual Wealth Planning

My decision to be a wealth manager was influenced by my father, who was an advisor when they were called “stockbrokers.” He’s honest and ethical and has developed wonderful relationships with his clients.

While I’ve received my Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF) and chartered financial consultant (ChFC) designations, as well as Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)licenses 7, 63, 65, 9, 10, and 24, earning my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation impacted me the most because I learned so much and am better educated to serve my clients.

When working with clients, my approach is to use the same planning process for everyone, regardless of their net worth. I help retirees, business owners, and doctors with individual wealth planning, tax planning, and estate planning. My motto is: If you fail to plan, you can plan on failing.

I believe it’s critical to have a plan for your life, stick with your investing principles, and not make emotional decisions based on the latest and greatest ideas from Wall Street.

What I like most about my work at Smith Brothers Financial is being part of a healthy, aligned team that’s all pulling in the same direction with the common goal of doing our best for our clients.

Giving back is important to me. I spend 10-20 hours per month doing pro bono financial planning and I’m Head of the Investment Committee for Three Rivers Community College.

I’m grateful for my health and passionate about overall—not just financial—wellness, which includes emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Some of my favorite activities include yoga, hiking, skiing, and watching my older son doing what he loves: playing lacrosse.

The best advice I’ve ever received is: You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listen more and talk less. My favorite quote is from Theodore Roosevelt, “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
