Our Retirement Plan Audit

The Smith Brothers Financial, LLC Retirement Plan Audit is an independent compliance tool to measure the health of a retirement plan, and ability of the plan’s fiduciaries to operate in accordance with ERISA and the plan document. Our program offers powerful resources to identify potential weaknesses in your plan and remedy through education, diligence and process. This is a complimentary service offered exclusively to clients of Smith Brothers.

Our Audit analyses and evaluates the various roles and responsibilities played by the many parties involved in your retirement plan, such as named fiduciaries, trustees, investment managers, financial advisors, administrators, record keepers, corporate staff, participants, etc. Often these parties overlap, disconnect, or even conflict with one another. It’s up to the plan sponsor, with the ever present risk of personal liability, to sort all this out, and to do so as a prudent expert while at the same time performing the “normal” tasks of running a business. To many plan sponsors, this presents as a herculean task.

At SBF, through our audit process, we strive to establish a clearly articulated analysis and recommendation for our plan sponsors. Documenting this process provides our clients with confidence in knowing that they are meeting their obligations as a fiduciary. We customize our solutions to the needs of each client, recognizing that each institution has unique qualities and needs. Our audit will:
 Name all Fiduciaries and Quantify their Liability
 Define the roles of all plan related parties
 Provide comments on Plan Design
 Determine Possible Dangers with Plan Operations
 Review the Investment Policy Statement
 Conduct an Investment Menu Analysis
 Benchmark all fees paid by the plan
 Breakdown the Education Plan

Consider Smith Brothers Financial, LLC to evaluate and help optimize your retirement plan dollars. Ask for our audit document checklist, prepare the materials, and call our Head Retirement Plan Specialist, Stephen Michaels, at (860) 430-3293.
It’s worth a conversation.
